Why this site exists

A wet yard looks the same whether the cause is a downspout dropping roof water at the corner of the house, a grade that has settled back toward the wall, a spring in the hillside, or a neighbor's runoff crossing the property line. The puddle carries no information about the cause, and the fixes range from an afternoon to a five figure excavation.

So this site does two things. It explains, in plain terms, what each kind of drainage work actually does and roughly what it costs. And it puts you in front of someone who works Maury County and walks the ground before quoting a length of pipe.

How the work gets done

Every job on this site is carried out by a licensed Tennessee contractor. We are not the crew in the truck, and we will tell you who is coming before anyone is scheduled. If you want to check a license yourself, the TN Board for Licensing Contractors is the register.

What we will not do

• Quote a french drain before checking the grade and where the roof water goes
• Tie downspouts into a french drain, which pushes roof water into the ground you are trying to dry
• Discharge onto a neighboring property, into a road ditch that cannot take it, or into a sinkhole
